The first part of my collection, In the Garden, includes colorful mixed media blossoms on canvas. They were fun to create and the color schemes are very different from my earlier collection called Moody Mountains.
Blooms I has three bright flowers made with a mixture of cool an warm reds. The background has a cool airy blues, grays with lots of texture and marks.
Blooms II was painted with a combination of greens and blues to represent leaves and greenery and sunlight. The flowers are cool reds and pinks.
Blooms III is one of my favorite small paintings from this series. The turquoise, yellow green leaves and ivory buds really liven up the cool red flowers.
My paintings titled Blooms V and Blooms VI include more yellows and cool airy backgrounds. Blooms No. 5 feature tulip-like flowers and lots of texture. The background of the violet flowers has colored pencil scribbles and splashes of gold.
Creating these small flower paintings with such happy colors was a nice change from my earlier works. The paintings in this series show in small and large ways my hope for a brighter future.
Thank you so much for your time. I hope you have a great day!
